OpenGL ES 1.1 Reference Pages

OpenGL© ES is a royalty-free, cross-platform API for 2D and 3D graphics on embedded systems. It consists of desktop OpenGL© subsets. OpenGL© ES 1.X is for fixed function hardware and emphasizes image quality, graphics acceleration, and high performance.

  • Defined relative to the OpenGL© 1.5 specification
  • Emphasizes hardware acceleration of the API
  • Features improved performance, image quality and functionality
  • Provides performance improving optimizations that also reduce memory bandwidth usage in order to save power
  • Backwards compatible with OpenGL© ES 1.0
Note: Before starting your programming project, decide whether to use OpenGL© ES 1.1 or 2.0, because they are not not fully compatible with each other.

Use the index at the left to choose any OpenGL ES or EGL reference page for viewing. The reference pages (also known as "man pages") include all of the important usage information for each command. This information includes a description of all parameters, return values, error conditions, and related commands.
